Day 1 Arrival
Meet and greet at Entebbe International Airport by our staff. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight stay at Cassia Lodge/Namirembe Guest House (BB)
Day 2 Kampala City Tour & Jinja
10am: Kampala city for your City tour, the highlights are: Bulange, the palace for the Buganda King, Uganda museum the oldest museum in East Africa, Makerere University, one of the oldest educational institutions in Africa. Bahai temple, the only temple of Bahai faith in Africa. 2.0pm: Transfer to Jinja, the highlights are: Mabira Forest walk for bird watching, Tea plantations in Lugazi Meal Plan: Breakfast and Lunch. Day 3: Jinja (Rafting/River Surfing)
After Breakfast, start the ultimate Nile rafting experience. Thunder through legendary rapids, drift quietly through deep green pools and revel in the thrill of river surfing. Overnight and meals at the camp along the river. Meal Plan – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 4: Rafting/River surfing & Bungee Jump
You will go for day two of the rafting and in the evening go for the Nile High Bungee Jumping where you will leap over the source of the Nile. Dinner and overnight at Jinja Nile Resort/Hotel Triangle Jinja. Meal Plan – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 5: Source of Nile-Bujagali-Kampala
10.00am: Source of the River Nile, take a short boat ride on the world’s longest river. Bujagali falls for site seeing. 2.00pm: Return back to Kampala. Transit Time 2 Hours. Meal Plan: Breakfast & Lunch. Overnight at: Cassia Lodge/Namirembe Guest House (B&B)
Day 6: Kampala – Rhino tracking at Ziwa sanctuary
8 00 am: Depart for Masindi, via the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking. The sanctuary has been established to breed black and white rhino which got extinct in the country due to heavy poaching in the early 80s. Lunch at the sanctuary and after, proceed to Masindi for overnight stay. Transit Time 3-4 Hours Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Overnight at Masindi Hotel /Kabalega Resort (B&B)
Day 7: Chimp Tracking in Budongo-Murchison Falls
7:30 am: Depart for half day chimp tracking and habituation in Budongo Forest Reserve. The rangers will guide you as you view the amazing chimps feed, play and rest. Lunch at the eco center and after which you will proceed to Murchison Falls National Park for your overnight stay. Transit Time 2-3 Hours Meal Plan: Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge/Sambiya River Lodge.
Day 8: Murchison Falls National Park
6.00am: An early morning game drive to see the animals before daybreak. Expect to see the big five and their cousins. Return for breakfast then go for a boat ride to the bottom of the falls. This cruise will give you a view of crocodiles, hippos, buffalos, elephants and a rich variety of birds at close range. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & dinner. Overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge/Sambiya River Lodge.
Day 9: Murchison Falls National Park – FORT PORTAL-Semuliki
6: 30 am: Depart for Fort Portal town to explore Semliki & Kibale Forest National Parks.
Transit Time 6-7 Hours. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Overnight at Mountains of the Moon/Rwenzori Travellers inn
DAY 10: Semuliki NP Game Drive, Boat Trip
6.00am: Depart for Semuliki National Park, ideal for primate safaris, birding and butterflies. The common animals include the elephant, buffalo, sitatunga, leopard, Uganda Kob, a wide range of birds. Parked lunch in the park and after take a trip to the healing hot springs at Sempaya before returning back to the hotel. Meal Plan: Breakfast, lunch & dinner. Overnight at Mountains of the Moon/Rwenzori Travellers inn
DAY 11: Mabere Ganyina Mwiru Rocks and Toro Palace
10 00 am: Enjoy the drive to Mabere Ganyinamwiru in the outskirts of Fort portal town. Here you will be briefed by the resident guides on the formation of these rocks and the cultural attachment in the Toro Kingdom. Return to your hotel for Lunch.
3 00pm: Visit the cultural Karambi tombs and the Omukama’s palace at Fort Portal. These cultural sites are important to the Batoro tribe, their kingdom dates as far back as 1830. Their current King, Oyo, was enthroned when he was aged 3 years old after the death of his father. He is now 19 years. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and dinner. Day 12: Kibale Forest NP
Day 13: Chimpanzee tracking – Hiking
10.00am: Today you hike thrugh Kibale forest to track the chimpanzee and other primates such as the black and white Colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, black faced red colobus, red tailed monkeys and olive baboons. Kibale National Park is home to 12 species of primates and a variety of bird life. Here you may see the great blue turaco. After the forest hike, spend the rest of the day at leisure. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and dinner. Overnight at Primates Lodge/Chimp Nest (FB)
Day 14: To Queen Elizabeth National Park
10.00am: Depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park. In the evening you can enjoy a relaxed guided walk around the hotel. Transit Time 3-4 Hours. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and dinner. Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Bush Lodge
Day 15: Queen Elizabeth National Park
6.00am: A game drive to see the wildlife before dawn. Expect to see the spotted hyenas, lions, buffalos, leopards, elephants and hippos as well as the giant forest hog. Return to the lodge for breakfast.
2.00pm A cruise on the Kazinga Channel, a channel that connects Lake Edward to Lake George. Its believed this area has the biggest hippo concentration in Africa. A numner of animals will be watering at the edge of the water. Enjoy the scenery and don’t forget your camera. Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Bush Lodge
Day 16: To Ishasha Sector
After Breakfast, transfer to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth for the second game drive. This sector is famous for tree climbing lions, look into the cassia branches as you may see some lions resting in tree branches. Other animals like Elephants, buffolos, baboons may be seen in this area. Overnight at Ishasha Wilderness Camp/Savannah Resort Hotel. Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 17 Queen Elizabeth National Park – Lake Bunyonyi
8.00am: Today you will transfer to the highlands of Kigezi, the climate is mild and the nights much colder. Check in at our lodge in time for lunch.
4.00pm: Take a boat ride around the lake to get a view of some of the 29 islands OR spend the afternoon at leisure. A hike to the hilltop to get a view as the sunsets behind panoramic volcanoes is a must. At the hilltop enjoy the bar, with pool table, table tennis or have a game of football with the village kids. Bunyonyi means a place of little birds, and here you may see the resident African Harrier Hawk, Yellow-backed, spectacled weavers, Levillant, and king fisher. You can also hire one a bike from the lodge and enjoy sceneries of the village or hire a fishing rod and try your luck at catching the elusive tilapia in the lake. Day 18 Gorilla tracking
5 30am: Depart Bwindi Park headquarters for briefing by the park ranger guides. The gorilla trek will take you through steeply forested landscape. Dress right for it. Sometimes it rains but the serenity of the forest, the bird life and the vegetation, butterflies make the experience a very unique and memorable one. The tracking may take a few hours before you find the gentle giants. Ranger guides will guide you through the jungle. Meal Plan: Breakfast, picnic lunch and dinner.
Day 19: Canoeing and Hiking on Lake Bunyonyi
8:00am breakfast and 8:30 depart for the full day canoe trekking on Lake Bunyonyi and Hiking in the hills around Bunyonyi. You will get to your canoes with packed lunch and drinking water and start the trek via Kavumo Island with a short stop to watch a number of birds like Pied Kingfishers and great comrants as they fish. The guide will give you the interesting history behind this island, take pictures and continue to the hotel arriving in the evening for your dinner and overnight stay. Day 20: Lake Mburo National Park
9 30am: Depart for Lake Mburo National Park. This is the best place to view the gigantic eland antelope. Other animals include the impalas, topi, zebras, hippos, crocodile and a variety of birds. Lake Mburi National park probably has some of the biggest hippos in the world! A boat ride in the afternoon gives you a close view of some of these animals. This park is also great for walking safaris as there are hardly any carnivores. Meal Plan: breakfast, lunch and dinner. Transit Time 3-4 Hours. Overnight at Mihingo Lodge/Mburo Safari Lodge
Day 21: Lake Mburo-Kampala
Day 22: Entebbe departure
Transfer to the airport for your outbound flight after breakfast.
