Day 1 Arrival
Meet and greet at Entebbe International Airport by our staff. Transfer to your hotel for the overnight stay. Overnight at Serena Hotel (BB)
Day 2 Fort Portal
Morning pick up at 8:00 and transfer west to Fort Portal. Stop over at the historical Nakayima tree in Mubende said to have ‘blessings’ of Ndahura, a mediaeval Bachwezi King. This tree is believed to be four hundred (400) years old. Thereafter, transfer to Mountain of the Moon hotel for dinner and overnight. Meal Plan – Lunch and Dinner.
DAY 3 Mabere Nganyina Mwiru caves-Omukama Palace
After breakfast, transfer Mabere Ganyinamwiru in the out skirts of Fort Portal Town near Nyakasura School. These are stalagmites and stalacacites carbonated rocks that keep dropping milk like liquid. “Mabere” means breasts and Nyinamwiru was the mother of Ndahura who was the first King of the Chwezi Dynasty in the Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom. There is a lot of cultural attachment on this site to the people of Bunyoro and Toro, and the local guide will take you through this and later transfer back to town for lunch. After lunch, you will visit the cultural Karambi tombs for the Toro traditional leaders and in the evening, visit the Toro Kingdom palace at Fort Portal that is second largest Kingdom in the country and this was established way back in the 16th century. Return back to the hotel for dinner and overnight. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Transit time: 4-5 hours
Day 4 To Kampala
After Breakfast, transfer back to Kampala and on arrival, check in at Serena Hotel for your overnight stay. The evening will be at your own leisure. Meal Plan: Breakfast and Lunch. Transit time: 4-5 hours
Day 5 Kampala Cultural Sites
8:30am breakfast, and after transfer to the Prison Ditch at Kitereke where Kabaka (King) Kalema imprisoned all his brothers competing for the throne and killed a number of them. After a Kiganda dance from a local cultural group, proceed to the Naggalabi Budo, coronation place for the King of Buganda. Thereafter, transfer past the Kabaka’s lake at Rubaga and continue to Bulange Mengo – the seat of Buganda’s parliament. Enjoy lunch at one of the restaurants in town. Later in the afternoon, visit the Uganda museum for a display of wide cultural and historical background of Uganda. Dinner and overnight at Serena Hotel. Meal Plan: Breakfast.
Day 6 Namugongo, Sezibwa, Kalagala Falls
After breakfast, transfer to Namugongo Marty’s shrine, where the first Christian Martyrs were slain the then Buganda King. Thereafter, transfer to the Sezibwa Falls; a spiritual place of Buganda kings where they get powers, etc. Take pictures at the spectacular falls as a local guide explains to you interesting legends about the place. After a picnic lunch, visit the Kalagala falls and drive back to Kampala. If time allows, you will visit the National Theater for craft shopping. Dinner and overnight at Serena Hotel. Meal Plan: Breakfast and Lunch.
Day 7: Departure
Depending on your departure time, you will be transferred to the Airport for your return flight. Meal Plan – Breakfast
