Day 1 Arrival
Meet and greet at Entebbe International Airport by our staff. Transfer to your hotel for the overnight stay. Overnight at Serena Hotel (BB)
Day 2 Jinja-Mbale
After Breakfast, depart for Mbale via Mabira forest, one of the rain forests on the shores of lake Victoria boasting over 100 species of birds, butter flies, insects and 3 primate species. Proceed via the tea plantations, and river Nile in Jinja. You will have a short stop at Jinja for pictures and a visit to the source of River Nile believed to be one of the longest rivers. After, proceed to Mbale one of the big towns in Eastern Uganda. On arrival, you will check in at Mbale Resort overlooking Mount Elgon. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Transit Time: 4-5 hours
Day 3: Sipi Falls and Nyero Rock Paintings
7:00 am breakfast and after transfer for a full day cultural and historical tour to Nyero Rock Paintings located about 8 kms outside Kumi town and Sipi falls in Kapchorwa. These are rocks and boulders believed to have been painted by bush men or early Stone Age men over 300 years ago. They have 3 different rock faces that were painted with different signs with the first one having circular shapes and acacia figures. The second face has shapes of canoes and zebra paintings and the third one has a moonlike shape. You will also enjoy a spectacular view of Lake Kyoga in the nearby. Most of these shapes depict animals and items these people used in their days. You will have your packed lunch and after transfer to Sipi Falls for the hike to the bottom of falls along Mt. Elgon, you will enjoy the cool mist at Chebonet falls, Kapkwai cave and the spectacular viewpoint lying just beyond the falls along Kapchorwa road and later transfer back to your hotel. Overnight at Mbale Resort. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Transit Time: 2-3 hours
Day 4: To Gulu
After an early morning breakfast at 6pm, transfer further to northern Uganda, Gulu with Lunch en-route and on arrival you check in at Acholi inn or Gulu Church Hill Courts Hotel for overnight stay. In the evening, you will visit the cultural attractions around Gulu that include: Gulu museum at Kal Kwaro (Acholi Cultural Chiefs Homestead) for more culture and history of the area. Meal Plan – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Transit Time: 5-6 hours
Day 5: Cultural, historical and homestead visits
After breakfast, visit Samuel Gordon’s Fort at Patiko established by the British explores who came to this area and this particular one was established by Sir Samuel Baker in 1872 and later occupied by Emin Pasha and Charles Gordon. After you will visit the traditional homesteads of Acholi people where you will participate in their day today activities like food preparation, craft making among others and in the evening, you will be entertained by their local traditional dances and performances before returning back to your hotel for dinner and overnight. Overnight at Acholi inn or Gulu Church Hill Courts Hotel Meal Plan – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 6: To Kampala
After breakfast, transfer back to Kampala via the famous Karuma Falls on river Nile. Lunch will be en-route and on arrival, you will check in at Serena Hotel for your overnight stay. Meal Plan – Breakfast and Lunch. Transit Time: 4-5 hours
Day 7: Kampala City Tour
8:30 am breakfast, and after transfer for your City tour, the highlights are: Bulange, the palace for the Buganda Kingdom, Uganda museum the oldest museum in East Africa showcasing the culture, traditions and history of Uganda and the neighboring countries, Makerere University, one of the oldest educational institutions in Africa. You will go for lunch at one of the city restaurants and after continue to Bahai temple, the only temple of Bahai faith on African continent. In the evening, you will be transferred to the National Theater for a variety of crafts and souvenirs, do your final shopping before returning to your overnight hotel. Dinner and overnight at Serena Hotel. Meal Plan – Breakfast.
Day 8: Departure
Depending on your departure time, you will be transferred to the Airport for your return flight. Meal Plan – Breakfast
