This is the largest volcanic base in the world located in the eastern part of Uganda at the Kenya –Uganda border.
It is the largest and solitary volcanic mountain in East-Africa with 300km Diameter. Rising, above to more than 3000metres above the surrounding plains. The park is located 235km east of Kampala.
ATTRACTIONS AND ACTIVITIES IN MT.ELGON NATIONAL PARK.
The park’s attractions include; 300 bird species, Small antelopes, forest monkeys, elephants and buffaloes.
It is also composed of numerous caves, cascading waterfalls and the caldera.
Activities that can be done in the park include; birding, cultural encounters, Hiking/Nature walks, Mountain/volcano climbing, nature walks Rock climbing, sport fishing.
